Roemer just celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2012, but despite moving into a new facility on Tremont Avenue in the 1980s, the company needed to expand. As many other businesses are finding out, the Eastern Iowa Industrial Center with its access to Interstate 80 and large open spaces ready for expansion, made a great fit. Roemer broke ground on their new facility last August.  The new location will help them better serve their customers. Roemer repairs centrifuges for the grain and ethanol industries, municipal waste water treatment plants, meat and poultry industries, and chemical and pharmaceutical companies .

The new space contains more than 4,000-square-feet of office and an air-conditioned shop area. It also includes six overhead bridge cranes, two jib cranes, 1,750 square feet of mezzanine space and surface parking for 37 vehicles.

The City of Davenport is assisting the project through its Davenport NOW program, which offers tax rebates on new construction. The Roemer expansion is one of a handful of new projects finishing up or getting started this spring in the EIIC and the Interstate 80 corridor.
